Who we are
Website is Up is a website monitoring service run by MaXsoft Technologies ("we", "us"). This notice explains what we collect when you visit websiteisup.com or use the service at app.websiteisup.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Questions about privacy go to our contact page.
What we collect
Your account
- Your name and email address.
- Your password, stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash. We cannot read it.
- Your plan, invoices and payment history.
The sites you monitor
- The domains you add, and the results of every check: status, response time and errors.
- Screenshots of pages we check, including the step where a journey failed.
- For WordPress sites with our plugin: the versions of WordPress, plugins and themes installed, and when each was updated.
Things you ask us to keep secret
- Test logins for journeys, and AI provider keys you add. Both are encrypted before they are stored, and test logins are only ever typed into your own verified site.
How to reach you
- Your alert settings: email, and a Telegram chat or phone number if you add one.
- Messages you send through our contact form.
When you visit
- Your IP address and browser details in our server logs, used for security and to limit abuse.
- A site you check without monitoring it is checked and answered, and the result is not kept.
- Page views and a few actions on the public site, if analytics is switched on and you allow it (see below).
We do not collect card numbers. When you pay, you enter them on Stripe's or UBL's own payment page, and we only receive the result.
How we use it
- To run the checks you set up, and to alert you when something breaks.
- To show your dashboards, status pages and reports.
- To take payment and keep billing records.
- To answer you when you write to us.
- To keep the service secure: rate limits, abuse prevention and investigating problems.
- To understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use the public site.
Cookies and analytics
Sign in. One cookie keeps you signed in to the app. It is needed for the service to work and is not used for anything else.
reCAPTCHA. Sign in, sign up and the contact form use Google reCAPTCHA to tell people from bots. Google's privacy policy applies to what it collects.
Google Analytics. When it is switched on, we use Google Analytics on the public site, sign in and sign up to count visits and to see which pages lead people to sign up. It is never used on pages inside the app. Unless you choose "Allow" when asked, Google is told not to store analytics cookies and only receives anonymous signals. We do not use analytics for advertising, and we do not send your name, email address or the domains you monitor to it.
You can change your answer at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; you will be asked again.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services that help us run Website is Up, and only what each one needs:
- Our hosting provider, where the service and its database run.
- Our email provider, to deliver alerts, receipts and replies.
- Stripe and United Bank Limited (UBL), to take card payments.
- Telegram, if you choose Telegram alerts.
- Google, for reCAPTCHA, Analytics (as above) and Web Risk, which checks domains against lists of unsafe sites.
- Anthropic or Groq, when an AI feature runs: the outline of a page we are examining. Never your test logins, and with your own key if you added one.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Monitoring data is deleted automatically. These are the default periods:
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Individual check results | 7 days |
| Hourly uptime history | 90 days |
| Journey runs and visual checks, with their screenshots | 30 days |
| WordPress update history | 90 days |
| Incidents, for reports | 1 year |
| Your account, sites and settings | Until you delete them or close your account |
| Invoices and payment records | As long as tax and accounting law requires |
Your choices and rights
You can see and change most of your data in the app. You can also ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your account and the data that goes with it;
- stop using your data for a purpose you object to.
Write to our contact page and we will answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Security
Secrets are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and the monitoring browser cannot reach private networks. The security page explains how, in detail.
Children
Website is Up is a service for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

When we change this notice we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you by email before it applies.
