How do I check if a website is down?
Type its address into the box at the top of this page. We request the page from our own servers and show whether it answered, the HTTP status it returned and how long it took. You do not need an account.
Is it down for everyone, or just me?
The check runs from outside your network. If it says the site is up and you still cannot open it, the problem is probably on your side: try another device or network, turn off a VPN, or clear your browser’s cache. If it says down, it is not just you.
Why would a site be up but still broken?
A server can answer with a page while sign in, search or checkout fails. Journeys walk through those steps the way a customer does, and report which one failed and what changed just before.
How often is my site checked?
Straight away when you add it, then every 30 minutes unless you choose a different interval, up to every 24 hours. A failure is checked again before anyone is alerted, so one slow response does not wake you.
Is it free?
Checking any site from this page is free, and so is monitoring one website. Paid packages add journeys, visual checks and client reports.
Do I need WordPress?
No. Uptime checks, journeys and visual checks work on any site. WordPress sites that install the plugin also get the update history that names the cause of a failure.
